FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Why did you start your blog?
I wanted to create a space where I could express my fashion taste, beauty expertise and share my life.  In creating this blog, I aimed to create something more multi-faceted than just a makeup or beauty blog, and include helpful and relateable sections like lifestyle, travel and DIY to share my life hacks, travel guides and recaps, and just let you get to know me a little bit better!  Plus I wanted to share with you all of my favorite things about my city, Detroit!

What did you study in school?
I earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan.  I double-majored in Communication Studies and Spanish once I realized only a few classes separated me from a minor and a major in each, and I'm happy to say that I have two majors that have come in handy in my professional career currently working in automotive advertising for Lincoln!

You cheered at the University of Michigan?!
Yes!  You might see my Instagram feed peppered with #tbt photos of my cheer days, and at least once a year I'm able to head back and cheer the football Homecoming game as an Alum.  I spent my four years of undergrad cheering in front of the largest crowd watching college football anywhere in America, enjoying a front row seat to some intense rivalry games throughout the Big Ten, and traveling to bowl games and basketball tournaments!  It certainly had its perks, but I learned practical life skills like time management and discipline as well!  Forever, Go Blue!

Where do you live?
I'm so happy to finally call Detroit home!  I grew up and lived in a suburb of Grand Rapids, MI through the completion of high school.  Then I moved east to attend college and lived in Ann Arbor for a few years after as well.  Most recently, after house hunting went south, my boyfriend and I decided to rent in Detroit and check that off the bucket list.  You can find us exploring downtown and walking Sadie on the river walk!

Who takes your photos?
Right now, I've got a lot of family and friends that take my photos, and I even take some myself as well.  My dad and boyfriend have been some of my biggest helpers when needing to shoot outfit posts or beauty shots that I can't accomplish selfie-style or with a tripod setup.  I am always looking for new photographers and people looking to expand their portfolio to work with, but for now this works for me around my busy schedule.

What are your favorite makeup products/brands?
That's a tough one, but I can provide a few brands and products that I can't live without!  For brands, some of my favorites are NYX, ELF, L'Oreal, Colourpop and Maybelline for more affordable options.  For more high end options, I love MAC, Tarte, Kat Von D, Becca and Lorac.  If I had to choose a favorite product I couldn't live without it would probably be lipstick, but as long as I've got some foundation, mascara or falsies, and a great lip color, I'm a happy camper!
