2017 NCAA Tourney Trip: Indianapolis, IN

As March comes to a close, I wanted to share with you the madness that was my month! As a former Michigan cheerleader and grad, I always keep up with how the Wolverines are doing in any particular sport. As conference play came to a close for Michigan Basketball, my guys had a couple of huge wins over Wisconsin and Purdue.

A life-altering event happened as the team headed to the Big Ten Tournament in D.C. The team's plane, carrying over 100 people including the team, support staff, cheer, and the band - crashed.  High winds caused the plane to skid off the runway during takeoff!  It was scary scene, but the team bonded together and went to the tournament, played in freakin' practice jerseys and went on to win 4 games in 4 days - taking home the Big Ten Tournament Title!  If you want to read an awesome article written by one of the players, Moritz Wagner, click here - but be warned, have some tissues ready - it's a tear-jerker!

The team's momentum kept on rolling into the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis, IN.  I immediately texted my Dad (who lives in a suburb of Indy), and we made plans to drive down and watch the first set of games!  Click to watch the video above - it is a vlog summary of our first weekend in Indy watching Michigan win their first two games, earning their 3rd Sweet Sixteen berth in 5 years!  We had a blast - I'll share a few photos down below too!

Michigan's momentum carried them through Oklahoma State and Louisville and into the Sweet Sixteen in Kansas City, MO.  Check out a second post coming soon to see how the trip to the Midwest Regional was!  As always, Go Blue!
