Another New Year's is here already, can you believe it?!  It's been quite a year, one of lots of changes and major life events, and what's better than to cap off 2016 in style?  If you're heading out to celebrate with friends, or hosting a party at your home, you should 110% make sure you've got something glitzy in the mix for your ensemble to celebrate wth some pizazz.  Go full-on glitter and sequins or throw on something a little more subtle (like a scarf) with a metallic finish, but make sure you've got some sparkle - it's New Year's after all!

As soon as I saw this stunner online I knew it would be a perfect NYE dress.  It's just the right amount of sparkle and sophistication with a side of sexy.  Rather than going all-out with a low-cut top or a super-short skirt, this more modest neckline and length of dress balance out the thigh-high slit.  I've really liked the accessibility of the Topshop brand now that it's sold at Nordstrom - they offer some pretty amazing styles at affordable prices.  This dress looks super luxe and expensive, yet it was under $100.  Because the fabric is stretchy, it's super flattering even though it hugs my curves.  The foiled gold polkadot print is so tiny that the entire dress gleams gold in the right lighting, adding to the expensive look.  My favorite part?  The sexy side slit and the way the gold foil changes to an iridescent green in perfect twinkly lighting.

I wanted to create a bit of an 'Old Hollywood' touch to this look, and since I'll be indoors for my celebrations, I thought a stole or wrap would make a good addition.  Faux fur has been having a major fashion moment lately, so I needed to try my hand at adding some to this ensemble.  I grabbed this grey stole off of Zara's online store and am officially *heart eyes* in love!  The faux fur's color changes from grey to a neutral-brown, and adds a blast-from-the-past touch to the look to take it from modern to classic.

The final touches include a pair of classic ankle-strap pumps with gold hardware - a coordinating touch to the dress that adds an understated, elegant feel.  The pumps are classy and elongate my frame, ensuring the thigh-high slit is tasteful.  The last additions are some fully-rhinestoned accessories.  When it comes to glitter on NYE - more is always more.  The clutch is gorgeous and adds another tone to the glittery ensemble.  The bracelet and earrings top the look off in a subtle way - if there is such a thing on New Year's.  And that's all!  Sparkly makeup optional.

Happy New Year's everyone!  I hope you all have a safe and momentous holiday with those you hold most dear.  2017 is right around the corner and it's time to create some serious (sparkly) resolutions.  Can't wait to share some exciting new things with you in the new year!
